Stanford Junior School is looking to appoint a number of teaching assistants to fulfil a variety of roles across the school from September 2023. We are looking for reliable, committed and enthusiastic staff who value their own professional development, enjoy working supportively with colleagues and, most importantly, are determined to add value to children’s school experiences.

About the role

The successful candidates will be allocated to individual children, or to work with named children across the school to support the work of our learning mentor, or to perform general TA duties across a year group. We are looking for staff who are willing and able to support the wider life of the school, including attending residential trips and visits, running after school clubs (staff who are interested in running a club are paid to do so) and upholding the school’s ethos and vision for children. We will be interested to hear what you can bring to our school and, during the interview process, will want you to demonstrate the skills, energy and passion required to enable our school to secure even better outcomes for children.

You will be…

  • caring and sensitive to individual need
  • committed to inclusive practices
  • knowledgeable about behaviour, and likely triggers, and have strategies to manage challenging behaviours within and beyond the classroom
  • able to work supportively with colleagues
  • an excellent communicator
  • keen to further develop, and share, best practice
  • emotionally resilient.

We can offer you:

  • a supportive senior leadership team
  • opportunities to further your practice
  • polite and ambitious children who are keen to learn
  • an enthusiastic staff team
  • a strong and committed governing body

Prospective applicants are invited to arrange to visit our school. Please contact the school office to arrange a date and time.

Closing date: Friday 7th July

Interview date: Friday 14th July
